Leude, ich hab ein Problem. In meiner neuen Küche ist eine Nische für einen Einbaukühlschrank, aber die Abmessungen dieser Nische scheinen abseits jeglicher Norm zu sein. Die Nische ist 83cm hoch, 55cm breit und 50 cm tief (55 würden auch gehen, dann müsste ich auf die dahinter liegende Steckdose verzichten). Nun haben alle Kühlschränke mit 83cm Höhe, die ich bisher gefunden habe, eine Breite von 59 cm. Das passt aber nicht Hat hier jemand eine Idee, wo ich so einen seltsamen Kühlschrank herbekommen könnte?

Update: Dank Stefan G. habe ich den Exquisit 115 A gefunden und gekauft. Der passt zwar rein, ist aber scheißlaut. Den würde ich definitiv nicht weiter empfehlen

The state owns a monopoly over the Syrian media, prohibits any critical analysis of the regime, and freely arrests journalists and bloggers on a whim. Digital surveillance is common, and upon arrest, many citizens are tortured until they reveal their social network accounts and passwords.

Indeed, the Syrian public faces the very real threat of strict monitoring of all online activity through a widespread government surveillance system. Every single Syrian’s web browsing is monitored, censored and recorded at all times using technology provided by Blue Coat Systems. Surveillance software has been installed at all Internet cafes to record every single site visited and word typed. In Syria, simply viewing a website can get you arrested. Such extreme restrictions and surveillance are violative of essential human rights.

For all the attempts to hide their atrocities from the international media, Assad and his corrupt cronies cannot hide the blood and tears of the Syrian people. For months, security forces have systematically engaged in murder, beatings, torture, disappearances, imprisonment and other inhumane acts aimed at stopping the quest for freedom and democracy.

In early August, forces pulled thousands from their homes, herded them into a sports stadium, seized their IDs and cell phones, and detained them for days. A two-year old girl was shot in the eye and killed - her father then shot and detained as he rushed to her lifeless body. A popular blogger was detained in July and has not been seen since then. A famous political cartoonist was beaten, had both hands broken and warned to stop satirizing government officials. Yet the Syrian government claims it has only engaged in operations to combat armed terrorist gangs. However, what gangs are spread over 185 thousand square kilometers and are comprised of children, bloggers and cartoonists?

Anonymous will not stand by idly while states like Syria degrade the common humanity of their citizens through the menaces of violence, surveillance and repression. We will actively challenge governments that engage in censorship and that wage bloody wars on their own people. We will strike in defense of the Syrian people. Assad: we will ensure that the world knows of your brutality and of the suffering of your people. Your blatant lies will be laid bare for the entire world to see. We will do everything we can to assist the Syrian people until you are toppled from power.

Today, Syrians struggle for the very soul of their country. As long as the state uses oppressive tactics to restrict its people, we will not rest. The road to Damascus has been taken and there is no turning back now.

Muahaha: In einschlägigen Untergrundforen wird ein funktionierender Botnet-Baukasten "Aldi Bot" für 10 Euro angeboten.

Die Spezialisten von G DATA befürchten nun, dass sich Botnetze zum Massenmarkt entwickeln könnte – dabei sei es egal, ob zum Geld machen oder nur zum Spaß.

Kann mir mal jemand erklären, warum die israelische Armee ihre Bilder jetzt unter einer Creative-Commons-Lizens veröffentlicht

Die Bilder lassen sich vervielfältigen, verbreiten, öffentlich zugänglich machen und kommerziell nutzen. Dabei muss aber der Name des Rechteinhabers genannt werden, heißt es in der von den Isrealis genutzten Lizenz "CC BY 2.0" oder auch "Namensnennung 2.0".

Was lange währt wird endlich tot.

Kennt ihr das? Ihr wollt ein Youtube-Video anschauen, das so miese Qualität hat, dass man es im Vollbild-Modus nicht ertragen kann? Z.B. so eins hier? Dann guckt man es eben notgedrungen "auf klein". Das nervt aber auch, weil drum rum so viel weiß ist. Die Rettung naht in Form eines Firefox-Addons namens "Turn off the lights". Dieses kleine Tool "dimmt" den Rest der Website dunkler, so dass ihr euch voll und ganz auf das Video konzentrieren könnt. Ich habe mir unter "Tools -> Add-Ons -> Extensions -> Turn off the lights -> Options" die Opacity auf 95 gestellt (statt der voreingestellten 80), dann sieht das Ganze so aus:

Na endlich! Es hat ein bisschen gedauert, aber anscheinend haben jetzt selbst die traditionell eher zurückhaltenden Japaner die Schnauze gestrichen voll. In Tokio waren 60.000 Leute gegen Atomkraft auf der Straße. Die Polizei spricht nur von der Hälfte, und das auch nur inoffiziell, aber das kennen wir ja aus Stuttgart Weiter so!

So. Das Bett steht, der Internetanschluss funktioniert seit gestern abend, Herd und Kühlschrank kommen heute nachmittag. Im Laufe des Tages werden ein paar Kartons ausgepackt, viele Sachen müssen leider noch warten, bis am Freitag die Regale und Schränke kommen. Für euch heißt das, dass es hier wieder in halbwegs gewohnter Frequenz weiter gehen kann.

Ihr habt vielleicht schon von den "intelligenten" Stromzählern (smart meter) gehört, die so mancher Stromanbieter als tolle stromsparende (sic!) Möglichkeit anpreist und unbedingt an den Mann bzw. die Frau bringen will. Es stellt sich heraus, dass man an diesen Geräten ablesen kann, welches Fernsehprogramm ihr gerade eingeschaltet habt bzw. welche DVD ihr euch gerade anschaut. Wir haben hier also wieder ein Mosaiksteinchen ins Bild der Rundumüberwachung gelegt bekommen.
